Fountain Valley, California, the Fountain Valley Police Department responded to a suspicious person outside a middle school by a male subject without a shirt who appeared to scare a woman in car there. Officers located 26-year-old Osean McClintock, who matched the description provided by the caller. He refused commands to sit down and took off on foot. The officer chased McClintock through several parking lots. McClintock gained distance on the officer and the officer discontinued the foot pursuit. Without good cause to continue the chase, he radioed to others to let the suspect go. A deadly encounter ensued when the suspect met up with a female police officer nearby, who drew her weapon-- but then was disarmed by the suspect.
