Vicky Gomersall is joined by Sky Sports News reporter Gary Cotterill and The Sunday Times Chief Football Writer Jonathan Northcroft to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action.

We begin by looking at the Premier League title race, with Liverpool in touching distance to secure the title.  How important will Virgil Van Dijk’s new contract be?  Gary believes Van Dijk is the greatest centre back since Vincent Kompany, but do Liverpool need to spend big in summer?

Next, Daniel Khan sits down with Ruud Van Nistlerooy to talk about Leicester’s difficult position, the standards being set and plans for the future.

Elsewhere, we discuss the race for the Champions League spots, looking at Aston Villa’s 4-1 win at home over Newcastle and Olly Watkin’s post-match interview, claiming he was “fuming” to be left on the bench against PSG.   Gary and Jonathan both think Forest are the team to miss out on the Champions League for next season.

Also, Joe Thomlinson interviews Jurrien Timber about the win over Real Madrid and a personal battle won against Vinicius Jr, and the elite level defence Arsenal have created this season.

We then discuss Tottenham, after they’ve reached the Europa League semi-finals.  Gary thinks Ange is a man who looks like he’s feeling the pressure and believes a lot of Tottenham fans think he’ll be gone win or lose in the semi-finals.

We end with two more interviews; Jamie Carragher sits down with Arne Slot to talk about Salah and Van Dijk’s contract renewals, Trent being back on the pitch, and the title coming to a close.  And James Cole chats with Mikel Arteta about defeating Madrid, and carrying form in to the league.

Manchester United Newcastle Chelsea Aston Villa Arsenal Liverpool Manchester City Kevin De Bruyne Pep Guardiola Mikel Arteta Ange Postecoglou Tottenham Southampton Europa League
Vicky Gomersall is joined by The Mirror's Darren Lewis and Sky Sports News reporter Gary Cotterill to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action.

We begin by looking at both Manchester sides; Darren believes it has to be a big summer for United, who must compete against the likes of rising teams Newcastle, Chelsea and Villa (as well as Arsenal, Liverpool and City).  Gary believes United will be challenging for the top four next season.

Also, Ben Ransom sits down with Pep Guardiola to talk about Kevin De Bruyne announcing his City departure, what Pep has learnt in this tough campaign, and whether he would have been sacked if it wasn’t for his prior success.

Next to Arsenal, who after their eleventh draw of the season at Goodison, are very much Madrid or bust in the Champions League.  Gary attributes the Gunners’ league downfall to injuries and lack of a striker, but believes, after a recent trip to London Colney, that Mikel Arteta knows he has his striker of choice in summer.

And finally, pressure on Ange Postecoglou, with boos on the touchline and a challenging week with the media.  Gary names Tottenham v Southampton ‘the depressed derby’ but the Europa League may be the saving grace.

Vicky Gomersall is joined by The Mirror's Darren Lewis and Sky Sports News reporter Melissa Reddy to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action.

We begin pitch-side at Wembley, with eyes on the Carabao Cup final.  A less than perfect buildup week for Liverpool after Champions-league loss and a buoyant Bruno Guimaraes describes the fixture as Newcastle’s “World Cup Final.”

Next, Natalie Gedra sits down with Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak, who talk about their chemistry, what it means to play in a final, and their favourite goal scored together.

Elsewhere, Juliette Ferrington chats with Cody Gakpo about recovering from the intensity of the midweek Champions League clash with PSG and Liverpool’s resilience this season. And Keith Downie meets ex-Newcastle player Rob Lee on Wembley Way, who reminisces scoring against Chelsea at Wembley, and is confident his old team can lift a trophy for the first time in seventy years.

We also talk of Arsenal’s opportunity to work away at the deficit against Liverpool, and the importance of building momentum ahead of the Champions League tie against Real Madrid.

Vicky Gomersall is joined by The Mirror's Darren Lewis and Sky Sports News reporter Gary Cotterill to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action.

We begin with Liverpool’s win over Southampton, putting Arne Slot’s side six wins away from securing the title, but Darren believes Darwin Nunez was a little lucky to have not been given a red card.

Next, Gary sits down with Jose Mourinho to discuss his alleged ‘racist statements’ made after drawing with Galatasaray.  Darren argues Jose thinks about the language he uses, that analogies are still allowed, and Gary shows us a present he was given by Jose!

Elsewhere, the race for the top four; Gary believes after Nottingham Forest’s win over Manchester City yesterday, they’ve cemented their place in the top four.  We look at some good dancing in the Forest changing room and analyse why Nuno’s side are so effective this season.

Finally, Pat Davidson meets Mikel Arteta, and talks expectations this season after finishing second twice, a switch in tactics from fluid attacking to control, and how to take the next step.  And Juliette Ferrington sits down with Ruben Amorim to discuss a tough start at Manchester United.
