Money isn’t everything, but it is something! What does money mean to you? In the last week of our sermon series, WICKED: The Worship of Wealth, Pastor Charles had us take a hard look at our history and relationship with finances. He guided us through 3 ways to be healthier with our money and encouraged us to be truthful about where we are and to trust God in this area. God has given us the blueprint for living a life of faith, but sometimes we get caught up playing the wrong game. In Week 3 of WICKED: The Worship of Wealth, Pastor Michael Todd challenged us to stop hating the player and start changing the game by focusing on God’s Starting 5—Prayer, Bible Reading, Gathering, Fasting, and Giving. These practices keep us aligned with God’s purpose and equipped for spiritual battles.
Pastor Michael reminded us that the game of life isn’t just warm-ups—it’s warfare. We can’t overcome without opposition, and each of these five spiritual practices faces resistance: independence, ignorance, isolation, idolatry, and immaturity. By fixing our eyes on Jesus and committing to God’s game plan, we can experience the joy and freedom that come from living a faith-filled life.

God wants to give us His heart on finances, wealth, and generosity. Every time we experience financial increase, we’re taking an open-book test and God has already given us the answers. In Week 2 of WICKED: The Worship of Wealth, Pastor Michael Todd broke down tithing as a biblical principle and practice established by God of returning the first 10% of our increase back to God through the local church. He debunked myths and misteachings around giving and reminded us that tithing isn’t about pressure, it’s about honoring God. This message speaks to the real feelings many believers have about tithing and reveals the fun and freedom that come with trusting God in this area.
