Today we will be discussing the most feared monster in all of Filipino folklore. These shapeshifting creatures appear as humans during the day, and transform into horrifying predators at night. They have been described as having backward feet, reversed toenails and bloodshot eyes. These creatures are so deeply ingrained into Filipino beliefs, that some rural areas of the Philippines continue to hold the belief in this creature today.

Vladimir Pokhilko was the president of AnimaTek, a software company based out of San Francisco, CA. The conclusion of his legacy for the last 2 decades has been as follows: not seeing a way out of his financial troubles, in 1998, Pokhilko brutally murdered his 39 year old wife, Yelena Fedotova, and their 12 year old son, Peter, before he completed suicide. But recently, a 2022 documentary has attempted to re-write this narrative, coming forward with multiple experts and witnesses, alleging Vladimir Pokhilko was not a murderer at all: he was targeted by a Russian mob. On Thanksgiving evening, November 28, 1985, there would be a deadly explosion at Hilltop Mobile Home Park at 7800 Jacksboro Highway between Lake Worth and Azle, Texas, just outside Fort Worth. The explosion would kill three members of the Blount family: Joe Blount, his daughter Angela, and Angela’s cousin, Michael Columbus. And to this day, what happened remains a mystery.
