Find & Evaluate Podcasts

This guide covers the first and most critical pillar of your outreach campaign: finding and evaluating the right podcasts. We'll walk you through the entire workflow, from broad searching to deep, data-driven evaluation, so you can build targeted media lists with confidence.

The Core Workflow: From Search to Saved List

For 80% of your work, you'll follow this simple, four-step process to quickly build a high-quality list of prospects.

  1. Step 1: Start with a Keyword Search
Navigate to the main Search page. Enter keywords relevant to your niche (e.g., "B2B marketing," "sustainable travel," "mental health for founders"). The search engine will return podcasts that match your terms.
  2. Step 2: Apply the Essential Filters
To instantly remove noise, apply the three most important filters, located at the top left of the search page:
    • "Has Guests": Ensures the podcast actually features guest interviews.
    • "Active": Filters for shows that have published episodes recently, proving they are still producing content.
    • "Has Email": Prioritizes podcasts for which we have a verified contact email, making your outreach actionable.
  3. Step 3: Scan the Search Results
The search results page is designed for rapid assessment. For each podcast, quickly check the key data points on the card: title, categories, audience size estimate, and contact info.
  4. Step 4: Bulk-Add Prospects to a Media List
Once you've scanned the results, the fastest way to build your list is using the bulk-add feature. This is a huge time-saver for creating campaigns.
    1. Use the checkboxes on the left side of each podcast card to select all the prospects that look promising.
    2. Once you've selected one or more podcasts, a blue action button will appear at the top of the list: "Add checked podcast(s) to list". Click it.
    3. You can then add your selected podcasts to an existing list or create a new one on the fly.

Pro-Tip: To add all podcasts on the current page in a single click, use the "Select all" checkbox at the very top of the results list.

The Deep Dive: How to Evaluate a Podcast Profile

Podseeker podcast page for evaluation

When a podcast looks promising, click its title to open the full Podcast Profile Page. This is where you go from a prospect to a qualified lead. A professional evaluation involves answering four key questions:

  1. Is the show a good fit?
Start with the Booking Overview for a quick summary of the show's theme and ideal guest profile.
  2. How do I contact them?
Scan the Contact Information section for verified emails and official contact forms.
  3. Is this a realistic target?
Check the Booking Intelligence section to gauge the difficulty. A "VERY HIGH DIFFICULTY" show might not be the best target for a new client.
  4. What's my pitch angle?
Review the Recent Guest Discussions and Recent Topics sections. This is the best place to find a timely, relevant hook to make your pitch stand out (e.g., "I saw you recently spoke with Dr. Jane Smith about neuroplasticity, and my client's work on cognitive performance would be a perfect follow-up...").
  5. (For Teams) Has my team already pitched them?
Check the Team Activity section to see if a colleague has already added this show to a list or has an active pitch. This prevents duplicate outreach.

Advanced Techniques & Pro-Tips

Podseeker podcast finder exclude topics

Once you've mastered the core workflow, use these advanced features to further refine your search.

Refine with Category Exclusions

If your results are too broad, the Exclude Categories filter is your most powerful tool. For example, a search for "Spiritual" podcasts will often include many religious shows. You can easily exclude the "Christianity" and "Islam" categories to focus on non-denominational spirituality.

Sort for Strategic Advantage

Use the sort dropdown at the top of the results to prioritize your list based on your campaign goals:

  • Audience Size: For maximum reach.
  • Latest Episode: To ensure you're pitching the most active shows.
  • YouTube Subscribers / Instagram Followers: When a strong social media presence is a key requirement.
